Mahua Dumbu

Ingredients

  • Dried Mahua Flowers – 500g
  • Rice – 500g
  • Atta (Wheat Flour) – as needed
  • Elaichi Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 100g

  1. Grind Mahua before mixing
  2. Rice to be ground into flour

DIRECTION:

  1. Grind the Mahua flowers.
  2. Grind the rice into flour.
  3. Mix Mahua, rice flour, atta (optional), and elaichi powder.
  4. Knead using cold water.
  5. On a wood fire stove, place a dekchi of water (1 litre).
  6. Place Sakhua sticks on the dekchi.
  7. Place Sakhua leaves on the sticks.
  8. Put the Dumbu on the Sakhua leaves and steam for 15 minutes.
